Dr Eleana Fitidou

Dr Eleana Fitidou is an expert working for the Crime Scene Examination and Latent Fingerprint Development Laboratory at the Criminalistics Department of the Cypriot Police. Furthermore, she is a lecturer and special scientist of Criminology at the University of Cyprus, as well as a police trainer at the Police Academy of Cyprus. Eleana is a member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) of the Council of Europe, in respect of Cyprus. She holds a BA in Criminology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, an MPhil in Criminology from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Crime Scene Investigation from the George Washington University, and a Doctorate (DCrimJ) in Criminal Justice from the University of Portsmouth. The focus of her doctorate thesis was on Juvenile suspect interviews in the Republic of Cyprus. Since 2023, she has also been involved in the COST action 22128, ImpleMendez.
